Logistics Improvement Examples
In our logistics domain, we are committed to ongoing improvements such as those described below, and we are contributing to the resolution of social issues.
1.Conservation of resources and CO2 emissions through transportation efficiency improvement
We redesign product packaging as necessary, giving consideration to transportation quality, working to conserve packaging materials, and improving transportation efficiency.
Examples of packaging improvements
- Car multimedia products for overseas markets: About 67% increase in loading capacity per pallet
- Fuel injection products for the domestic market: About 60% increase in loading capacity per pallet
2.Resource circulation through a reuse system for plastic tray
The Mitsubishi Electric Group utilizes plastic trays as packaging materials for various products. While considering transportation quality, we are actively promoting collaboration both domestically and internationally to establish a system for reusing these trays.

Before improvement
Used plastic trays have been disposed of separately at each of our multiple overseas locations. Used plastic trays have been disposed of separately at each of our multiple overseas locations.
After improvement
Instead of discarding used plastic trays, we implemented a system where the same local contractors collect them from each overseas facility. By establishing a reuse system, we achieved the global reuse of trays that were previously discarded after overseas production. As a result, we significantly reduced the purchase volume of new trays.
