Enhancing Fuel and Energy Efficiency Through Inverter and Motor Business

As of 2022, automobiles accounted for 15.9% of Japan’s total CO2 emissions. While emissions have been on a downward trend, our products and services aim to further accelerate this reduction, contributing to the transition toward a decarbonized society.

Our inverters and motors drive higher efficiency and advance miniaturization through next-generation power devices and advanced control technology, improving fuel and energy efficiency in electric and hybrid vehicles, ultimately extending their driving range, reducing CO2 emissions, and conserving energy resources.

Enhancing Safety and Reliability through Electric Power Steering Business

As the pioneer of the world’s first mass-produced electric power steering system, we continue to advance our technology. Beyond improving vehicle fuel efficiency, we are developing next-generation redundant systems that maintain assist functions even in the event of failure, to realize a future with zero traffic fatalities.

We are advancing technology to further enhance the accuracy of fault diagnostics, contributing to greater reliability in predictive maintenance. Through the evolution of electric power steering products— a key component of driving safety — we support the development of driver-assistance and autonomous driving technologies.

Contributing to the Circular Economy Through Remanufacturing Business

We actively remanufacture automotive electrical components such as alternators and starters. We restore the products by collecting used Mitsubishi Electric products, disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and replacing damaged parts before reassembly.

With a history dating back to 2000, our remanufacturing business has over 20 years of experience in resource conservation. As the automotive industry places greater emphasis on the circular economy, our efforts not only reduce material consumption but also help reduce CO2 emissions by recycling products that have been used for a long time and restore their original performance.

Advancing the Decarbonization of Internal Combustion Engines

The decarbonization of fuel sources for internal combustion engines is also important for realizing carbon neutrality. In recent years, alternative fuels such as green methanol and synthetic fuels produced from renewable energy sources have gained attention.

To support this transition, we are developing EGR valves and other gasoline- and diesel-related components designed to work with these next-generation fuels. By advancing both electric vehicle technology and innovations in internal combustion engine systems, we are contributing to a more sustainable planet.

Contributing to Tackling Labor Shortages

Leveraging our expertise in automotive technology alongside the Mitsubishi Electric Group’s technologies and capabilities, we are developing Robot Delivery Service with a vision for future smart cities. Expanding beyond the automotive sector, we aim to contribute to a safer, more efficient, and more comfortable society.

For indoor and outdoor transport, we have partnered with America’s Cartken to deploy autonomous delivery robots. In the medical sector, we offer MELDY and MELCADY for in-hospital transportation. These initiatives contribute to alleviating severe labor shortages and enhancing convenience.

Advancing Safety, and Security with Occupant Sensing Technology

To achieve zero traffic fatalities, technology must be able to detect abnormalities in a driver’s condition, such as drowsiness, distraction, and heightened stress levels. By quickly detecting sudden changes in physical condition such as heart disease, epilepsy, and cerebrovascular disease, these innovations help prevent accidents before they happen.

Our driver monitoring system business integrates the Mitsubishi Electric Group’s AI technology to enhance biometric sensing capabilities. We are also developing technology to assess the condition of all occupants, helping to solve critical societal issues such as traffic accidents and the risk of children being left behind in vehicles. Through these advancements, we aim to create a safer mobility society.

Contributing to Safety, Security, and Comfort Inside and Outside the Vehicle

As efforts toward a decarbonized society progress, electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly widespread. Unlike gasoline-powered cars, EVs operate with minimal engine noise, creating a quieter and more comfortable cabin environment. However, this reduced noise makes it harder for pedestrians to detect approaching vehicles, leading to regulations in Japan requiring EVs to emit warning sounds.

Our car amplifier technology enhances driving experience by delivering high-quality audio while also improving road safety. By generating audible alerts to signal vehicle approach, our solutions help reduce traffic accidents and contribute to a safer and more enjoyable mobility experience.
